The Garden Show Has Really Begun!

I love chives!

The white iris is the first to bloom in this area. Next to the whites, I have black iris growing too (you can see the black pencil of the bud, just behind the white)!

It's taken many years for the creeping hydrangea to finally cover the stonewall!

Lady Slipper

The Lilac may be NH's state flower, the orchid - The Lady Slipper, is NH's state wildflower.

Past years, we have had tons growing in the wooded area of our yard. This year, this is the only one!

Did you know that it is NOT illegal to pick this flower, in NH? In Massachusetts, a law passed in 1935 indicates a fine of "not more than $5" will be the punishment for digging them up or injuring them in any way.

I can believe there was an advisory last night, for Southern New Hampshire and a frost warning for areas more north! Warnings and advisories are in effect until Saturday. What?!!? It's mid-May!!!
