The Lilac may be NH's state flower, the orchid - The Lady Slipper, is NH's state wildflower.
Past years, we have had tons growing in the wooded area of our yard. This year, this is the only one!
Did you know that it is NOT illegal to pick this flower, in NH? In Massachusetts, a law passed in 1935 indicates a fine of "not more than $5" will be the punishment for digging them up or injuring them in any way.
