Oh No, Not Again!??!

Yep, another tomato painting!!! Took a lot of good reference photos, all summer long and am going to enjoy painting tomatoes for a while. Don't know what it is about that orange-ish red - alizarin crimson color that I love to paint. Hey, for a while I was painting light bulbs and then lemons!!!

This is another small 7x5 painting. I've been doing these little paintings for a few reasons; one reason is to see how I like it, compositionally. Once in a while, I will repaint something on a larger canvas. Also, they don't take as long to complete, when they are smaller in size.

GREEN TOMATO

Acrylic 5x7 gallery wrapped canvas (painted sides).

Another tomato grown in the garden. Soon, TONS will be ready to go and all at once. I am definitely going to make sauce with them because there is no way all of them can be eaten separately - that's a lot of salads!

LOL, Recently someone jokingly said that I paint the painting and then take the ref photo so that they look the same. That was such a compliment!

PURPLE GARLIC IN THE MORNING LIGHT

Aaah, I cannot imagine life without garlic. Purple garlic is the best for baking and after roasting in tin foil for a little while, nothing is yummier. Shamefully, I don't bother with the bread and other stuff, garlic's good all alone - popping out of it's clove. Tragically, no one will be looking for any up-closes with me, anytime soon! :O

This is an 11x14 acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas, with the sides painted.

Here are some WIPs pics of the painting. My computer died not too long after posting the 4th's picture. Slowly, it's being restored. It's a good thing I kept pictures of the painting on my cellphone and didn't delete them, they were my only copies! I hope you enjoy seeing these Work In Progress pictures of the purple garlic.
