Small Town Parade

Memorial day weekend is the beginning of summer and a great way to celebrate is the town parade!

Laura's HS band sounded great and it was a fun evening!

Vacation Time!

It has been way too long since I've been on a vacation. So when my bestie asked me to head down to Anna Maria Island, FL with her for a week, I JUMPED at the chance. And what a wonderful time I had staying in her beach house (right on the beach)!

Only one storm all week and it was fast moving. Was fun to sit on the patio and watch it roll in.

Here's a view of the awesome and warm ocean.

After looking for so long, I finally found my Prince Charming!!!

This restaurant is called The Sandbar. It had the most amazing menu and was such an interesting place to eat!

This view is from the tables, looking out over the ocean. There was also indoor dining where we ate a second time.

On the Sandbar's beach, they have areas marked where turtle nests are protected.

Every night we sat on the back patio and watched the sunset. That was the best way to enjoy a glass of wine!!!

For our last night we sat outside and enjoyed lively music at the Freckled Fin, another wonderful restaurant.

Busy Week

During the busy weeks after awhile, dinner gets tedious. Doing the fast food shortcut is always a digestion nightmare and most takeout, (especially scratch kitchen restaurants' takeout) can eat into the monthly family budget (OK, I couldn't resist that Pun-ny!)

So, during these times, I like to do a nice crockpot meal, while cooking the regular meal on Sunday night.

You can see by the picture above, it's gonna be a BUSY WEEK! LOL! In one is leftover pork now simmering in a homemade BBQ sauce and in the other is a beef stew in a nice thick gravy sauce. Oh yummmmm. Coming home late and tired is gonna be so much easier next week!

Peaking Robin!

We have a robin which has been trying to come into our through one window. Flies right into the window over and over - I finally taped up crinkled tin foil where she's been hitting. Now she just sits and stares into our home, wondering why she can' come in!
