Quilt Top Done.

And still waiting for the binding fabric for my last Trip Around The World quilt.

Since it's only a 9x9 square, I decided to go with the Log Cabin 7s pattern (All the upper corners make a 7).

Now, sandwich, quilt it and lastly, more binding!

BALLOON!

This is how my morning started! What fun.

The balloon was at first piloted by a newbie, but when he missed 4 great landing possibilities, the instructor finally took over and landed the balloon PERFECTLY in a less than perfect place.... The cul del sac, at the end of Cobbler Lane!

Usually the balloons land on Thatcher Street, the next street over, but I guess the pilot in training missed that chance.

One On Hold and Another One Started

While cutting the basting fabric for the Trip Around the World quilt, I cut an entire 1/2 yard wrong! Yikes! The 1/2 yard was part of the Moda's Jelly Roll Social Club pattern, and I special ordered it online. Now, needless to say, I am waiting for another delivery! :(

While waiting, I thought I'd use the new stash (I also shared a few days ago....) and start another quilt top. I decided to pull two of the colors and am using only 6 of the stash's 8 fabric prints.

This time, I thought I'd make a Log Cabin quilt. The very first quilt I ever made was a Log Cabin, with my cousin. What fun we had and I fell in love with quilt making.

This is just pieces thrown around the completed center. I took this picture so I can refer to it, as I go. Seems things are coming along!

Trip Around The World

Sandwiched and basted! Now all that is left is the hand quilting to keep the layers together. Doing the sandwiching/basting on the floor is a killer. Next time, I won't be lazy and I'll the huge old quilting rack out of hiding, even if it's just to do the basting....

The fabric is by Moda and is called "Social Club". I call the quilt "Boys Night". It's a large toddler or a child size quilt, perfect to a young man's night "out"! :D

Technically NOT The First Day

Because today is technically Freshman Orientation Day and not the actual first day of school, Laura was not very happy with me taking her "first day of freshman year" picture! (Meredith slept in, one more day before starting her Junior year!)
