Poppy Seed Homemade Buns

These turned out well and were so yummy. The poppy seeds were a hit with my younger daughter and husband but my older daughter wasn't thrilled with them. Next time, I'll make two batches and go wild with one and keep the other simple.

Cool Weather Means Warm Things

The past few weeks have been on the chilly side, inspiring me to bring out the knitting needles!

This pair of mittens is handmade on straight needles, with acrylic yarn. Warm and cozy for the colder days.

Viewing mittens as another accessory, I love having as many of them as I do shoes and of course they have to match the outfit! So I created this pattern for straight needles decades ago.

Please visit my Etsy Shop for more items!

The color on this pair of mittens is not quite accurate, it's more of a colonial or primitive maroon...

Thank you for looking!

FRESH BREAD

Hello again!
Still trying to learn recipes and incorporating a fresher, homemade diet that does not include any preservatives and trying to stay away from store-bought-style anything. Unrealistic I know, but the more I practice the better and easier it will be.

Have made a ton of pickles, relish, jelly and jams. Will be canning huge tomatoes from the garden when ready.

Also hoping to have some vegetable soups in cans, for days when there's no time to cook.

Here are some breads, freshly made today! Bread has been fun to learn and am eager to try more.

Garden Goodies and New Toy!

Hello again!
Growing goodies in the garden! Can't wait until they are big enough to pick. Been gathering a lot of zucchini and cucumbers and making tons of pickles!

Orange Pepper - Only one plant and only one pepper, but his is big and poud!

Pumpkin - Have three plants and three pumpkins!

Watermelon - Tons are growing... just hope there's enough growing season left! This is only about 5+ inches big!

And this is my new toy! A meat grinder. I am so excited to grind some good meat and make some fun sausages!

Well, I guess by now you all have realized a good part of life for me is about the food!!! Healthy and yummy!

WMUR Fun Photo Gallery

Hello again!
Our only TV station, WMUR, has a fun gallery of very wonderful New Hampshire photos, sent in by our local viewers. Bitten by the shutterbug, I too have set up a couple of albums.

WMUR ULocal Photos

Please visit my albums and comment. I'd even appreciate a rating, for some of the photos will be featured on our Chronicle program, published in a book, and possibly displayed in a show at a museum! What a fun little happy that would be (and those who know me personally, know I need a little right about now!).

Pink Bread! (Or what's left of it! :D !)

Been so long since I've made pink bread!
Leslie Anne Pease

Typical white bread with read food coloring! Isn't that fun? Used to make fun little sandwiches for my daughters, when they were in preschool. I'd use cookie cutters to remove the crust. Their little classmates used to love seeing the sandwiches at snack time!

This was a HuGe LoAf and I can't believe what's left, already!!! Guess I'm making more tomorrow!
