More Cards For The Box

More cards for my cousin's daughter's box. (Shhhh!)

Gonna be compiling all the cards and putting them in a beautiful, of course hand decorated box; silk flowers, ribbons and tissue paper.

>>Cards, silk flowers, ribbons, bows, tissue paper and a box... Erogenous objects for any girl. This gift for a budding TRUE young lady (headed off to a great school) should definitely be a hit.

These are Get Well cards. After living (surviving?) the college years, one thing I solidly learned is everyone passes around the illnesses. Having a stack of Get Wells on hand will DeFiNitElY come in handy.

Thinking the same sort of images in blues for cards she'll be giving her guy friends (or someone special?)

Then, the box is done! Should be sent at the end of the week.

Thanks for your visit!

Dragonfly Blending

Hello again!
Well, as I was weeding another garden, my daughter and I noticed this dragonfly sitting on our hydrangea. Look how wonderfully he blends in. Regular old chameleon!

Thank you for stopping by. Please come again.

OK! As Promised... Better Hummingbird Moth Pics

Hello and here you go! Here are much better pictures of the Hummingbird Moth. You know it's a moth because a bird doesn't have antennae (see bottom photo).

Hummingbird Moth!

Hello again!

I have heard of the bug but never saw one for myself. I have to admit for a bug, it's the cutest little thing!

Sorry the pics aren't better. Now that I know he frequents my garden and isn't not shy, I will try to photograph him again.

Closeup of the image below...

Full image. See how tiny he is?

Went To Purchase Another Audio Book

Saw Bristol Palin's book in the list. The only one to have 5 stars. THE ONLY ONE. Tina Fays book didn't have that many stars. Is Bristol's book being judged by the same people whom had judged her dancing?

Truthfully, when I went into the Bio section for a book, if found I was considering Bristol's book until the star ratings hit me. Now I am afraid it has been artificially inflated because of her mother's political interests.

The poor girl. I wish people would let Bristol stand on her own two feet. She seems bright enough and with a pleasant personality.... let her make it on her own, people!!!!

Way Too Hot...

OMG, so hot!

To stay cool my daughters and I stayed inside for part of the day. They really like making the stamped cards, so that's what we did.

I drew these poppies on the computer and printed them out for us to color. Turned out well! Looking forward to sending this to someone special.

This postcard is for my neighbor's little boy. He's very sick with a high temperature. Poor tiger, no one likes to be sick during the summer... especially a really active kid. I wrote the words on the computer and printed them out on the front of the postcard. The other side of the postcard is also created on the mac, and back-printed. Stamp is from Penny Black.

Hope you all are staying cool! Thank you for stopping by. Please come again.

Sympathy Card

Hello.
Sadly, my cousin's husband lost a dear aunt recently. She was such a sweet lady. My daughter and I thought it so inappropriate to buy 'just any old card' and instead we made this 3D one. That fun accent is also on the envelope (shown underneath everything).

The tire-tree stamp and saying are new, just for this occasion. We didn't have any sympathy supplies and so a wonderful Mother-Daughter Day was had, buying what we needed.

Been a while (aaarg decades) since I've stamped. Dragging out all the old stamps and playing with the fun papers really brought back some old crafty memories! Nice break from all the note card studying. (Maybe I'll "pimp" my note cards with some stamping!)

When I was buying the supplies for the first card, I saw a stamp with a sandcastle on it. The stamp was nice but not exactly what I was looking for. Online I saw some others but decided to draw my sandcastle by hand and then scan into the computer and redraw with Photoshop. Then after printing, I hand color (just like with stamps) and adhere the image to a card. The neat thing is, I can print the image out at any size! As for the inside message, anything works, but I think the message above goes so well inside this card, too.

Rummikub Returns!

When I was growing up, my parents were big game players and played several games over and over. They played this game all the time. When my father died, I would play it with my mother and had such good times. Now my younger daughter enjoys playing it and she's not bad, either!!!

Fun passing on some traditions.

Yeah Amherst!

Amherst NH was on the front page of The New York Times!!!!!

Our 4th of July is really popular with politicians and it's getting noticed.

Hello again!

My Mother's Day Gift is bursting with red geraniums! The hydrangea behind is also so very happy. Next year, I might give up my garden funds to fix the driveway. MAYBE! LOL! I don't even buy bark mulch for my gardens!!! Just spend money on flowers.

Isn't the color of this hydrangea beautiful? I have two different color blues and two different colors of purple. No pinks because we have too many pine trees.

Grew lettuce from seeds and when they grew enough, I stuck them in my gardens and in flower pots, everywhere! LOL!

These window boxes are new this year, too. Have been wanting boxes under these windows for years. The side of the house is so huge and the windows are so tiny, we really needed something to help out with all that 'siding'. The boxes add such color and interest.

I also have seeds growing for clematis, hibiscus (non-tropical species), and a clipping for a plant I found locally but do not know the name. Can't wait until they start growing.

Thank you for stopping by. Please come again.

It's Official

I am in the science program at Manchester Community College!!!! I can't believe I am back in college. Got my acceptance letter and just waiting for my old transcript credits to transfer.

I am so excited. Have been adding to the note cards and studying almost every day. Also found some online tests for medical terminology; did ok on two and did great on the third. Now I am hoping I can do well in the Law and Ethics, during the school year.
