Close Up of Leaf Border Hat
Hello again!
Just finished this hat. Very simple and definitely a quick knit, despite the details in the leaves.
Used 4 ply worsted cotton yarn with size and 9 circular needles. Hat based on eight leaves at the bottom, knit with 72 stitches, and decreased at the top.
So flapper-ish and fun. Will be nice and toasty during the winter!

Simple Knit Rose and Leave Pattern
Hello again!
My grandmother used to make these and taught me years ago. After wearing this hat and being asked by knitters how to make the rose, I thought it easier to tell everyone, all at once!
I made my sample large. The roses are so pretty and delicate looking with smaller supplies. You can use any size needle and any type (circular, DPNs, straight....). You can also use any type of yarn. Just remember the larger the needle and the heavier the yarn the bigger the rose and leaves.
ROSE
CO 8 sts
Row 1 Knit front, back and front of each stitch on needle. 24 sts.
Row 2 BO using purl stitch
Piece will naturally curl. There you have your rose!
LEAF
CO 3 sts
Row 1: K1 YO K1 YO K1 (5 stitches)
Row 2: purl
Row 3: K2 YO K1 YO K2 (7 stitches)
Row 4: purl
Row 5: K3 YO K1 YO K3 (9 stitches)
Row 6: purl
Row 7: K4 YO K1 YO K4 (11 stitches)
Row 8: purl
Row 9: sl 1, K1, psso, knit to last 2 sts, K2 tog (9 stitches)
Row 10: purl
Row 11: sl 1, K1, psso, knit to last 2 sts, K2 tog (7 stitches)
Row 12: purl
Row 13: sl 1, K1, psso, knit to last 2 sts, K2 tog (5 stitches)
Row 14: purl
Row 15: sl 1, K1, psso, knit to last 2 sts, K2 tog (3 stitches)
Row 16: sl 1, P2 tog, psso (1 stitch)
Secure last stitch and weave in back to secure.
There you have your leaf!
SECOND LEAF
Make another leaf like the first or make larger or smaller by increasing the number of YO rows (and the peso rows) or by decreasing the number of YO/psso rows.
ASSEMBLY
Stack the three pieces together by pulling the tails; pull tails of rose through the bottom of one leaf, then with the tail of the first leaf pull through the bottom of the second leaf. Pinch the base of the rose and leaves, take the rose tail and sew through all to secure.
STEM
If you want to make a stem, CO 3 stitches and work as and I-cord. When stem is the length you want, begin pattern on Row 1.
Voila! A rose with leaves.

SPEARMENT CANDY Socks
Hello again!
What a fun yarn! As it is knitted, it creates this pattern all by itself. I knitted both at the same time, on circular needles. I wanted the socks to be asymmetrical and didn't try to start the yarn in the same place of it's pattern. The yarns pattern's repeat was so close, the asymmetry was a bit successful but I wish the contrast was a bit more exaggerated.

And A Pink Hat, Too!
Although the hat looks like red, it's really a hot pink (aaarg, I can't wait until I have my img software loaded again)! At least you get the idea!!!!!!

Blueberry Hat
Hello again!
Was looking for ideas for hats to keep my daughter warm during her Nature's Classroom trip, coming up soon. Found this cute pattern on Ravelry.com. Great site for knitters!!! I believe this pattern was free (not sure because I could figure it out without downloading one).
Originally, it was designed to be a baby hat, but since hats are pretty standard, I did it for an older child/adult. Incorporating the green color is the same as any other pattern. The decreases happen within the green pattern.
Yarns are from my stash box. They aren't as dark as they appear on the screen, I can't adjust colors without my img software, which I don't have reloaded on my new computer, yet. SOON! :)
Knitted on size 9 circular needles, right up to the end of the knotted cord!
