Without the Hard, There'd Be No Easy

Such a long month... So much has happened. It's been a month of highs and lows... A celebration of a SPECIAL birthday, loss of a dear friend and an announcement of another grandchild for another friend. It's definitely run the gamut.

So glad there is a Wee-little-one for a distraction, to obsess about and to design new knits for!!!! Knitting always gets my balance on and babies always get my happy goin'! Always a Ying to the Yang, when one looks hard enough.

Only a couple more days left and this month will be done. Here's hoping next month is TREMENDOUSLY boring. :)))

Grandmother's Hope Chest

Young ladies used to have cedar chests to collect items, linens and clothing for when they would get married. They'd call this chest a Hope Chest.

Well, this mother (a hopeful future grandmother) has started her own Hope Chest. As the years go by, I hope to collect lots of baby things for my daughters and their babies.

A few days ago, I lost a friend before she had a chance to see her sons' future wives and children. Now I am more determined to fill the chest (and maybe more), so that my daughters will have a BIG something from me, either way.

After knitting the sweater for the CF auction, I fell in love with my pattern. So, immediately after I bought some purple yarn (my favorite color) and knitted another one!!!

About this sweater:
--> My own pattern adaption
--> Made with Paton's Classic Wool.
--> US 7 & 8 needles
--> Fits a 12-24m baby (depending on the baby's size).

My Dear Friend - No Changes

Oh, she's fighting a good fight. She's had, in the past 3 weeks, a stroke, a heart attach, suffers from pneumonia and numerous other issues and complications. If only she were 10 years younger and her body a little bit stronger... A normal life might be truly possible.

She's one of the good ones. She truly has compassion and strives hard for the not-so-blessed. Loved by many and is a true measure of a good person.

Please keep her in your hearts, thoughts and prayers

Tons and Tons of Rain

We've had flood warnings and I don't doubt it! The rivers have been so swollen, for a couple weeks.

The part I am having trouble with is the fact it was almost 80°F yesterday but in today's rainy weather, there will be snow mixed in! YIKES!!!!
