Fluid Art

It's been a long time since I've done any serious painting, mostly because I haven't wanted to do such realistic pieces anymore. While exploring abstract and modern art I came across Fluid Art and immediately was hooked!

These are 5"x5" pieces, created with acrylic paint, fluid medium and water.

More Fluid Art

Here's some more fluid art!

This is a 3"x3" "porthole" piece, created with acrylic paint, fluid medium and water.

This one is 10"x8", also created with acrylic paint, fluid medium and water. (as you can see, I am very inspired by purple!)

Busy Knittig

Busy knitting but not posting!

Here are a couple I made this Spring and Summer.

This is a unique purple sweater. It's a double ribbed fishermen's rib and it went along quite quickly. I decided to do a double ribbed pattern because I really liked the way my regular fishermen's rib sweater turned out and wanted to see how it would look doubled.

I LOVE Irish Fishermen's Sweaters and really wanted another. The one I made a few years ago has been a bit small these days, so I gave it to a really good friend whom is smaller than I. I love the intricate cable designs, especially the Hugs and Kisses pattern, although they are all nice and were fun to knit.

Started this one a week ago. It's version of the Honeycomb cable pattern that's fun to make and easy to do. I have the two front panels finished and near half the back. I like cardigans, especially large warm ones. They are so wonderful to cuddle in.

Fun Trip

Took a fun little trip to Fort Stark the other day.

Built just after the Spanish–American War, Fort Stark was built to defend the harbor of nearby Portsmouth and it's naval shipyard. The fort remained in active use through the Second World War, after which it was used for reserve training by the US Navy and then later acquired for the general public's use.

Beautiful land in gorgeous New Castle, NH. Always so nice to be right up near the ocean, even for just a little while!

Fox and the Hound

We have a fox living in the way back of our yard. Every once in a while Hazel bothers the fox, gets scolded and chased away. Today the two of them actually had a stand-off!

I think all Hazel wants to do is play with the animal that looks just like a dog with a really fluffy tail.

Fried Oyster Pearl!

While we were eating at our favorite seafood restaurant; Markey's in Seabrook, NH, my daughter bit down on something hard. When she spat it out, we realized she had an oyster pearl!

Here's a -->LINK<-- to another person who had a similar experience!

Turkey Vulture and My Favorite Rosebush!!

This guy is so huge! Well, I guess when one is a turkey vulture (or buzzard), one must be at least as big or bigger. Right?!!? You can always tell when he's around so are the turkeys he's stalking!

This rosebush is one of my original rosebushes I planted years ago. I love this bush. I think it's called the Bride's Bouquet?

Pickity Place and My Bestie's Birthday!

Perfect place to have a ladies' birthday luncheon with my bestie tennis partner and her family! Happy birthday JJ!

ABOUT PICKITY PLACE and LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD!

"Since 1786 our quaint little red cottage has graced the hills of southern New Hampshire, seemingly untouched by time. The enchanting cottage was chosen by Elizabeth Orton Jones as the model for her illustrations in Little Red Riding Hood (Little Golden Books, 1948). Today it is a mecca for gardeners, foodies and anyone looking for inspiration and relaxation. You will still find our hilltop hideaway at the end of the winding dirt road. Lighten your spirit as you step out of your world and into ours. Welcome to Pickity Place."

And a light heart and a wonderful time is exactly what we had!
